Q. Can we get there without Driving?
Yes. York Rail and Coach Station is approximately 12 miles away (with very good connections from the South, Scotland and Liverpool and
Manchester) A bus from the Station (depending upon what time you arrive, other wise you will need a taxi or bicycle) takes you to Stamford
Bridge only 1.5 miles away. As we are in a rural area, any extensive exploration of the area does demand a car, however we do hire bikes
and there is a train service to Scarborough, and a bus service to Whitby, Scarborough and Bridlington. We are close to the National Cycle
Network route 66 that goes between York and Hull and linking with other routes.
-
Q. I’ve got a very young baby, is that okay?
We do provide facilities for young ones, such as cots (with insect netting) and high chairs. You might want to think twice about coming
with very young ones in early spring or late autumn / winter when the nights can get very chilly.
-
Q. What about our valuables?
The woodland is on a private estate and not open to the public, the only people are quests, staff and gamekeepers and foresters working
the woodland. Keep your valuables with you, as your car, if you bring one, cannot be parked near your tent. It’s still camping so it’s
best if you leave the diamonds and laptop at home.
